Since his impactful debut with the designer brand WUU in 2014, Chen Furong has been exploring the field of design, and with the founding of CHEN FURONG Studio in 2019, he has taken his work to a deeper and more inclusive level.
Chen Furong attaches great importance to the innate value of every object and a sense of timelessness in every design, and thus, in his works, we can see his effort to transcend the divides of generations and cultures. Passionately committed to his work of design, he delved into the studies of materials and craft, trying to feel and express the emotions that came to him daily during the process of making something with and out of variously dynamic materials. Chen Furong’s works are the actualization of his transcending creative thoughts and philosophy that are carried out with a solid professionality and a sharp artistic sense. His poetics, brought out by his careful craftsmanship, is actualized through his design into works that are understated but lasting.
Since his debut in the industry, Chen Furong has won prestigious awards like the Architectural Digest top emerging Chinese talents of the year, the future award of IDEAT FUTURE AWARD, and the MAISON&OBJET rising talent award, and has earned international and national recognition in the field of product design in China. He has also been widely reported by renowned international media like WALLPAPER, ELLE DECO, AD, IDEAT, INTERNI, VOGUE, and ICON.
CHEN FURONG Studio also provides product design service. Carried out under the designer’s working mentality that is guided both by sensibility and intuition, it will be a comprehensive solution we strive to offer. Chen Furong’s years of experience running a designer brand granted him first-hand knowledge of the industry chain, enabling him to give insightful consultation service to the clients in terms of brand strategies.
At present, Chen Furong Studio owns an artistic studio Atelier V&F . CHEN FURONG Studio will carry on the work of design and keep exploring the field with an open and liberated mindset, and with solid practices, trying to transcend the boundary between different intermediaries, using forms like painting, sculpture, installation art, space design and limited design, bringing valuable designs into different fields.
