Started in 2014, Shanghai Ontimeshow is one of the most large-scaled and most important fashion trade show in China. For sustainable purposes, a handy set of exhibition equipment that can be repeatedly used and easy to install and store is urgently needed.

Invited by Ontimeshow, we designed a new set of accessory display table system, The Wavy Table. As the name suggests, the original inspiration of this collection comes from the dynamic rhythm of sea waves. The Wavy Table is visually impactful for its two-dimensional waves. The wave-shape molded bentwood stand supports and stabilizes the desktop and also acts as a visual shield, which gives it, at the same time, a clean and neat appearance and useful storage. Three different versions of desktop make the system flexible to cater to different needs and visually dynamic.

Since fashion events normally have two seasons and last only weeks, the display table system is, most of the time, kept in store. Both the flat and wavy boards of The Wavy Table can be easily put in stack. And compared to the old display table system, it requires ten times lesser space for storage, largely lowering the storage cost.

To make the installation and dissemination easier, we designed the metal fasteners that can be applied with bare hands. And even the screws are made fun and interesting and consistent with the style of the system. The soft silicone joints remain flat when the system is not installed, and thus, need not to be removed from the boards. This way we avoid the risk of losing them altogether.

The Wavy Table in use is like the calm and calming offing, quietly dynamic and solemnly light.
